INTERNATIONAL DUAL DIPLOMA

Earn a U.S. High School Diploma Alongside Your Home Country Credentials

A dual diploma allows international students to earn both their home country’s high school diploma and a fully accredited U.S. high school diploma simultaneously. This opens doors to American universities and many international institutions that specifically recognize U.S. credentials, while students maintain their connection to their local education system.

Silicon Valley High School offers a comprehensive full-time online diploma program designed to prepare students for success in the technology-driven economy. As an asynchronous online school, we serve students anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Our courses are video-based, self-paced, and teacher-supported, with personalized instruction from credentialed teachers.

How It Works

International students enroll directly in the SVHS Diploma Program. We accept qualifying transfer credits from accredited schools outside the United States for courses that meet our academic standards. This allows students to earn a U.S. high school diploma from SVHS while simultaneously completing their home country diploma requirements at their local school.

There is no need for SVHS to enter into a formal partnership with your home school. Students work directly with our Academic Advisors to evaluate transcripts, determine transfer credit eligibility, and create a personalized graduation plan.

Program Features

The SVHS Diploma Program provides international students with:

  • Personalized Instruction – Regular sessions with a dedicated Supervising Teacher plus optional one-to-one sessions with subject-matter experts
  • Academic Advising – Semester planning and graduation tracking with a credentialed advisor
  • Honors Courses – Weekly one-to-one instruction for academically motivated students seeking weighted GPA credit
  • AI-Powered Learning Support – Sage AI tutor available 24/7 in every course
  • Full Accreditation – Cognia and WASC accredited; NCAA approved; UC A-G certified

Rigorous Standards

The educational standards set by SVHS and the Partner School are designed to prepare students for admittance into reputable colleges in the US and other countries.  The standards are demanding, and this program is only for students who are looking for a high-quality education.

Top College Destinations

Our students attend Ivy League institutions including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, Brown, and Cornell, as well as elite research universities such as Stanford, MIT, Caltech, University of Chicago, Duke, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, and Carnegie Mellon. Beyond these top-tier institutions, SVHS students thrive at prestigious liberal arts colleges like Amherst, Bowdoin, Middlebury, and Pomona, major state universities including University of Michigan, University of Virginia, and the complete UC system, and international destinations such as University College London and University of Toronto.

English Language Considerations

SVHS courses are all conducted in English and as you will see below, we require students to take all their English courses with SVHS, so graduates will have a very high level of English competency. The level of English required for entry into this Dual Diploma Program mirrors that of the University of California, which currently sets the minimum English requirements for freshmen at a TOEFL score of 75 using the Internet-based test (iBT). SVHS English Language courses meet and exceed the standards required by Common Core and other state standards in the US, and they assume the student already has a high level of competency in English.
